FOR THE FLACO FANS

Plain graphic with, from left to right, Finding Flaco, a Flaco keychain, and Urban Owls.

Flaco—the famous Eurasian Eagle-Owl that escaped the Central Park Zoo, residing in Central Park—captivated the public’s attention and introduced birding to so many New Yorkers. His legacy has inspired beautiful art and publications, perfect for owl his fans.

Handcrafted Flaco Keychain: To honor Flaco’s memory, El Buho Mezcal created 386 of these handcrafted and locally designed wood keyrings, one for each day Flaco flew free about NYC. His untimely death also spotlighted one of the main threats of wild birds: collisions.

All proceeds will go to support our collision-reduction work. Give a gift with purpose this season.

Finding Flaco by Jacqueline Emery & David Lei
These two wildlife photographers, and dedicated friends of NYC Bird Alliance, were immediately fascinated by Flaco, photographing him from the night of his release until the week before his death, proceeds will go toward supporting Wild Bird Fund.

Available for pre-order via a “late pledge” on Kickstarter, purchase your copy of Finding Flaco here.

Pre-order Urban Owls: How Flaco and Friends Made the City Their Home by Christian Cooper.
This February, birder, author, National Geographic TV host, and NYC Bird Alliance Board Vice President Christian Cooper will join our “Spread Your Wings” Lecture Series to discuss his new children’s book.

Pre-order now for your smallest feathered friends and then tune in on February 4!
