Karen Benfield, birder, environmentalist, and acclaimed filmmaker, will be honored for her outstanding leadership of NYC Bird Alliance (formerly NYC Audubon). Over her transformative four-year tenure as president of the board of directors, Karen championed initiatives to protect migratory birds, safeguard vital habitats, and inspire countless New Yorkers to join the cause of conservation. Karen has left an indelible mark on both the organization and New York City’s biodiversity.

Dr. Claude Bloch will be recognized for his commitment to birds. Beloved in the birding community, Claude has been a supporter and active member of NYC Bird Alliance’s advisory council for over 35 years, and a longtime member of the Linnaean Society of New York.
