The New York City Marathon: 2025
NYC Bird Alliance is thrilled to be an official Bronze Level Charity for the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon.
For the first time, we will sponsor three runners to compete for Team Greater Yellowlegs and fundraise for NYC Bird Alliance, supporting our conservation work throughout the five boroughs.

If you're interested in running for our team and committed to raising $5,000 for NYC Bird Alliance, please fill out this form. If chosen, you will receive communications from NYC Bird Alliance and can then begin fundraising. Before applying, please review the below information to make sure you're right for our flock.
DETAILS
- Three runners will be chosen to run for NYC Bird Alliance's Team Greater Yellowlegs.
- Once selected, each runner will be provided with a personalized Give Lively fundraising page to share with their community.
- Each runner must commit to fundraising $5,000 to support NYC Bird Alliance's mission of protecting NYC birds and habitat. A minimum of $3,000 is required for entry to the marathon, no exceptions.
- To help support our runners, NYC Bird Alliance will organize our first ever Bird Runs to inspire team camaraderie. We will also spotlight our runners on various communications channels, promoting their fundraising campaigns while rallying support for race day.
- Please note that runners will be required to pay a race registration fee. ($255.00 for NYRR members; $315.00 for non-members)
KEY DATES
- The 2025 NYC Marathon will take place on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
- Applications to run for Team Greater Yellowlegs will close on Wednesday, April 30.
- Applicants will be notified if they have been accepted to run for NYC Bird Alliance by the beginning of May.
- Runners must commit to raising a minimum of $3,000 by October 15.
RUNNER QUALIFICATIONS
- Runners must be familiar with and invested in our mission of protecting wild birds and habitat in New York City.
- Runners must provide a general plan of how they'll meet their fundraising goals.
- Runners must be enthusiastic about birds and excited about birding-based activities!
